This time another Tajik club makes their debut at AFC competition, a team who were the surprise of Tajik League last year now wants to reach the AFC Cup group stage and emulate Ravshan whop reached the group stage by winning their qualifying playoff lasyt year vs Al Yarmouk from Yemen.
Khayr have some good players like their recent signing Kyrgyz experienced player Vladimir Verevkin who comes from Alay Osh and played AFC Cup last year, also Tajik international Mahmadali Sodikov who won the AFC President’s Cup in 2012 with FK Istiklol Dushanbe.
Sheikh Russel had a good 2014 surprising everyone by qualifying above KRL from Pakistan in the AFC President’s Cup group stage reaching the AFC President’s Cup final stage that was played in Sri Lanka where they won to Mongolian champions Erchim, now this year they want to surprise more and their main objetive is to reach the AFC Cup group stage.
They count with experienced Bosnian player Bojan Petrić, Jamaican former international Akeem Priestley and Nigerian player Kingsley Chigozie.
