WC Lillehammer: Polish double victory!



After the Continental Cup in Vikersund, also the last World Cup competition took place today in Norway, more precisely in Lillehammer.

The day started with the qualification at 13:30 CET and like the rest of the weekend the sky was overcasted and foggy.

Peter Prevc (SLO) who struggled yesterday showed again that he did not forget how to fly: With a jump of 138.0 metres and 139.5 points he clearly won the qualification round in front of Stefan Hula. After his good results in the past competitions the Polish athlete became second with 130.3 points and 134 metres. The third place in the qualification went to Prevc’s teammate Jurij Tepes, who ended 0.3 points behind Hula.
Best Austrian was Michael Hayboeck (128.8 pts) on the 4th place, followed by the two Germans Wellinger and Leyhe on 5th (128.5 pts) and 6th (126.9 pts) position. Anders Fannemel was the best Norwegian…

WC Lillehammer: Stoch again winner of the qualification



The weekend in Lillehammer (NOR) has finally begun for the men, where they will have two competitions: one tomorrow and one on Sunday.
Today was the time of the qualification, but first the athletes had two training rounds before.

The first training round started at 13.00 CET, but after the athlete Kento Sakuyama (JPN), they postponed the training to 14:00 due to strong wind conditions. We could see some long and some short jumps. The longest jump in the first training round went to Domen Prevc (SLO), who jumped 144.5 meters almost without any wind help (he got -0.6 points of wind compensation) and that is probably how he showed that he is going to fight for the podium tomorrow. FIFA Club World Cup 2016 Kashima Antlers vs Auckland City FC



Auckland City FC who have the record of appearances in the tournament aim to get their first win in Japan against the recently crowned J League champions Kashima Antlers who are making their debut in the tournament. The winner of this match will be playing against the African champions Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa.

Auckland dream of making an amazing tournament like they did in 2014 and finished in 3rd place but if they want to repeat that first they must win against Kashima.

Traditional players like Emiliano Tade and Joao Moreira are the references of the team, Albert Riera returns to the team after playing for some seasons in Wellington Phoenix and one of the big hopes and who wants to shine is Clayton Lewis

AFC Champions League winners Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors returns to the tournament 10 years ago and will play against the same team that eliminated them, that team is Club America from Mexico and this time Jeonbuk are looking to win against them and progress to the quarterfinal and play a match that could be historic for them against Real Madrid CF

In the 2006 tournament America won 1-0 vs Jeonbuk in Tokyo.

FC Luneville is the great surprise from Lorraine and have an interesting test vs Chambly, Luneville will be looking now to progress to the round of 16 for the 1st time in their history and also Biarritz will look to extend their run and qualify to the next round of the cup when they receive Stade Rennais.





WC Klingenthal: Domen Prevc did it again



After Poland’s historic victory yesterday in the team competition, the athletes were fighting for the individual win today in Klingenthal (GER).

In front of a great audience the trial round started at 13:30 CET. Domen Prevc (SLO) was first in this round with a jump of 138.5 metres. The longest jump was 139.5 metres by Markus Eisenbichler, who ended on the second place because Prevc started one gate lower. The third place after the trial round went, like yesterday, to an athlete from Austria: Stefan Kraft jumped 138 metres. Fourth was Domen’s older brother Peter Prevc while the Olympic champion Kamil Stoch (POL) became fifth.

The first round of today’s individual competition started at 15:00 CET with a partly cloudy sky and fair conditions. The first shock moment for the audience occurred when Vojtech Stursa (CZE) showed a jump of 133.5 metres and fell after the landing. The paramedics had…
