Historic week for RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim in Europe!

This week will be well remembered by RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim as both recorded historic victories in their first participation in European competitions

RB Leipzig won 3-2 vs FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League and Hoffenheim won 3-1 vs Istanbuk Basaksehir in the UEFA Europa League

The Europa League has reached their matchday 3 and Hoffenheim have 3 points while in the Champions League RB Leipzig have 4 points

 

FC Istiklol Dushanbe is AFC Cup finalist again!

FC Istiklol has reached the AFC Cup final for the 2nd time in their history after drawing 2-2 vs Bengaluru from India but winning 3-2 on aggregate score to secure their place in the final vs Air Force from Iraq next month.

Its the 3rd time in all their history that they reach a continental final, 1st time was in the now defunct AFC President´s Cup on home soil and where they won it, the 2nd time was in 2015 vs Johor from Malaysia and now this year.

It’s a cry that’s been heard around the world this past week, ‘El mundial, el mundial, el mundial’ or the local language’s equivalent to it. Costa Rica qualified in the 94th minute of their game after equalising against Honduras, reducing one Honduran to furiously punching the dugout at the points dropped. Egypt scored the winner in the 95th minute, a penalty, in front of 100,000 first terror stricken and then ecstatic home supporters. Panama didn’t need additional time, and will be competing at their first ever World Cup – having cruelly missed out after a late U.S.A equaliser denied them a playoff against New Zealand in 2013. Mexico took their place. You remember.
